Hi! I’m Natalie - owner, designer, and maker behind Vox & Dolly.

Vox & Dolly began back in 2014 on Etsy, when I started creating handmade guitar pillows and superhero pillows. I’ve always loved designing unique, handcrafted pieces, and over time, my collection has evolved as new ideas (and obsessions!) sparked. I’m constantly inspired to mix things up and add fresh creations to the store.

In 2018, I painted my very first doormat as a gift and fell in love with the process.

Since then, my hand-painted doormats have become a Vox & Dolly favourite, known for their crisp designs, pop of personality, and longevity.

Every mat is still painted by hand (never sprayed or lasered) in my Inner West Sydney studio. I don’t outsource or dropship anything. What you see in my store is made by me, start to finish, with a paintbrush in one hand and a good playlist or true crime podcast in the background.

Custom doormats that speak your style

  • Your order will be prepared for painting

  • I will be in touch via email within 24 hours with three (3) mockup designs. Once your feedback is received and the design confirmed, the doormat is prepared for painting.

  • If you have ordered a custom doormat, an email will be sent with a photo of your finished product. Doormats require two (2) days drying time and will be posted 2 days after they have been painted.

  • Each order is sent via Australia Post and a tracking number is provided.

The Book Safe Chapter

In 2024, I added something new to Vox & Dolly - hollow book safes.

As a lifelong reader and upcycler, turning pre-loved books (and new ones, too) into clever, hidden storage felt like a natural next chapter.

Each one is carefully chosen for its charm. Some nostalgic, some iconic, some just too pretty to end up in a landfill.

I hollow them out, line them with specialty papers or papers from the book, and sometimes tuck a surprise message inside.

They’re designed to be both functional and beautiful - perfect for storing jewellery, notes, keys or even secret snacks.

No two are alike; they’re eco-conscious, giftable and full of personality. Just like the books they’re made from.
