Carefully upcycled into a hidden book safe, it now offers a discreet place to store jewellery, keepsakes, or small valuables while still looking like a beautiful vintage children's book on the shelf. Inside, several original pages have been preserved at the front before revealing the hollowed compartment hidden within the book.
The compartment is finished with ribbon trim and an original illustration from the book, keeping the playful spirit of the story alive while giving it a practical new purpose. Each one is carefully handmade in my Inner West Sydney studio, turning a forgotten vintage book into something both useful and special.

This is a real book that has been carefully hollowed out, not a decorative box made to look like one. The pages are sealed, so the book keeps its shape while creating a practical hidden compartment inside.
Because each book is upcycled, small signs of its previous life can sometimes remain, which only adds to the character.
