Now carefully transformed into a hidden book safe, it offers a discreet place to tuck away small valuables or keepsakes in plain sight. Sitting on a shelf, it looks like a classic collection of short stories, but inside there's a hollowed compartment designed to hold something a little more personal.
A vintage floral illustration lines the base of the hidden space, adding a soft contrast to the rich burgundy cover and giving the piece an extra layer of character. Each book is carefully hollowed out in my Inner West Sydney studio, preserving the original feel of the book while giving it a practical new purpose.

This is a real book that has been carefully hollowed out, not a decorative box made to look like one. The pages are sealed, so the book keeps its shape while creating a practical hidden compartment inside.
Because each book is upcycled, small signs of its previous life can sometimes remain, which only adds to the character.
